The L.I.T Code crew discusses some of the current events going on in our nation and the current state of "the culture"!
In 1971 the late, great Marvin Gaye released his 11th studio album entitles, "What's Going On?". The album featured hits like "Mercy Mercy Me", and "Inner City Blues", but perhaps his most powerful single was the album's namesake, "What's Going On?". The song served as a plea from Marvin to his people and nation to take a little time to talk and see what was going on around us in a time of national turmoil. You see during that time our nation was battling racism, murder, drug abuse, and the onset of war! Sounds familiar right? Unfortunately, Marvin and his co-writers could have written this song yesterday and it would still be just as relevant today! Mass shootings, widespread drug abuse, the threat of war, a shaky economy, and the blandishments of a "culture" that has been passed off as cool to our people by power hungry sycophants whom profit from our demise, has left us in an eerily familiar territory to that of 1971. Today Edgar and Cortney plummet into the current state of our nation and the so-called culture that is swiftly leading to the demise of our people.
