Edgar and Cortney discuss the dangers of forming preconceived notions based on very little information.
This week, Edgar and Cortney explore the dangers of developing preconceived notions based on very scarce information. Cortney compares this to cosmetic implants. We have to start forming our own natural perception of other people, and cultures based on our OWN research and experiences. The guys also urge listeners to learn to respect the perspectives of others as well by illustrating two people viewing a sprite can from opposite sides. One is able to see Lemon-Lime flavored Soda and assumes that these are ingredients. The other is viewing from the side that includes the nutritional facts and he sees a whole list of ingredients. Both are willing to argue what they see and both are right, but, a simple spin of the can would reveal what both are seeing and thus allow the two parties to agree on eachothers perspectives.
